James Alexander Campbell

DURHAM- Mr. James “Jim” Alexander Campbell, 87, passed away September 23, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Campbell was born March 17, 1933 to the late George and Myrtle Campbell in Durham, NC. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and over 45 plus years as a genetic toxicologist. Jim loved his children and eating desserts, especially his oatmeal cream pies. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Jim is preceded in death by his son, Michael Wayne Campbell; parents, George and Myrtle Campbell; brother, George Robert Campbell.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy Campbell; sons, Brian Patrick Campbell (Mindy), Christopher Alan Campbell (Kristin); grandchildren, Angelica Campbell, Tristan Rogers, Emma Rogers, Chase Campbell, Haley Campbell and Parker Campbell.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 25, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Maplewood Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Hugh O’Shields.
