Helen Marie Coston

DURHAM- Helen Marie Coston, 74, of Durham passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015. She was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Elbert and Alene Parrish.  Ms. Coston was of the Baptist faith, and loved chasing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Mangum and her late husband Billy Joe Coston.

She is survived by sons, Dwayne Coston (Geneva) of Durham; and Rodney Coston (Patty) of Durham; grandchildren, Jennifer Holleman, Ashley Elliott, Crystal Coston, Heather Carden, Christopher Coston and Derek Wilson; great-grandchildren, Abigail Yanes, Dakota Woods, Ellyn Marie Wilson, Austin Coston, Elizabeth Holleman, Autumn Grace Holleman, Morgan Elliott, Brooklyn Elliott and Chloe Carden; brothers, Pete Parrish (Dawn) of Florida; and Tom Parrish of Durham; sister, Joyce Reese of Florida.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Johnny Hewett will officiate.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at Rodney and Patty Coston’s home. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to:  Hock Family Pavilion, 4023 N. Roxboro Rd., Durham, NC 27704.
