Gracie Maynard

DURHAM- Mrs. Gracie Mae Rhodes Maynard, 93, passed away Monday, July 27, 2020.

Mrs. Maynard was born on May 21, 1927 to James and Ruby Rhodes in Durham, NC. Gracie worked at Duke University for 45 years in the Purchasing Department, and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. She enjoyed puzzle books, needlepoint, crocheting, and cooking. Gracie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Maynard was preceded in death by her parents James and Ruby Rhodes; her husband, Herman Earl Maynard; her brother, Odell Rhodes; and sister, Dorothy Couch. She is survived by her sons, David Maynard (Jackie) of Durham, NC, and Timothy Maynard (Rob Sutherland) of Durham, NC; grandchild, James David “JD” Maynard (Hope) of Stem, NC; and great-grandchild, Levi David Maynard.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, Monday, August 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
