Gloria Spaulding Hill

The family of Gloria Wynella Spaulding Hill is saddened to announce her passing on October 11, 2023 at the age of 94 years.  

Gloria was born in Durham, NC on March 25, 1929, graduated from Hillside High School, Class of '47 and was a proud member of White Rock Baptist Church.  She always looked forward to their regular visitations during her stay at Hillcrest Convalescent Center, where she was very much loved and cared for.

Gloria was preceded in death by her loving husband CMSgt Donald Hill; daughter: Barbara Edwards; brother, Reginald Spaulding; grandson: Montre Richardson; brother-in-law: Judge Roland Hayes and her parents: D. Fuller and Reba (Anderson) Spaulding.

She is survived by her children: Willa Richardson and Tanya Spaulding-Smeltz; grandchildren: Tracey Watson and Cheyne (Victoria) Burwell; great grandchildren: Carley and Christian Watson, Casimir Burwell, Monee Richardson and Syncere Douthit; sister: Barbara Hayes; niece: Reba (Rod) Warren; nephews: Roland and John Hayes, Lawrence and Jerry Hardy; and a host of cousins, great nephews and nieces, friends and caregivers.

Private services will be held.

Gloria had an infinite love for flowers.  As an expression of sympathy, flowers may be sent to Hudson Funeral Home and Cremation, 211 South Miami Boulevard, Durham, NC 27703.
