Glenda Jean Payne

April 8, 1973 — September 8, 2023

Glenda Jean Payne of Durham, NC, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Friday September 8th 2023.

She is survived by her children Ashley & Dustin Carnell, Angel Payne Joseph & Brooke Payne. She had 6 grandchildren, Trinity & Kaylin Mangum, Isabella & Darren Carnell, Ryyder Payne, and Adalynn Carnell that she loved more than life itself. She was the most loving grandmother and her world revolved around those babies. Glenda is also survived by her siblings, Jerry & Jamie Hunt, Dustin Wilson and Megan Decker; Her neices and nephews, Kristin, Jerry, Samantha, Cali ,Chloe, Dawson, Bentley, Zoie, Carter, Tyler, Noah, Brendley, Raymond , Ava Morgan, Janoah, Jamari, Jacoby, Promise, Novah, and Maverick. Glenda joined two of her neices in heaven; Shiloh Grace and Arabella Grace.

Glenda is finally at peace with her Mother, Brenda Kay Butts, who she missed oh so much and lost way too soon in life. Like her children, also lost their mom Glenda way to soon. There is never enough time in each day, week, or year to spend with a loved one. You think you will never loose them and in the blink of an eye it's no more time, no more days, weeks, or years to make more memories together. Now we know she isn't in any pain and living in this cruel world, in this cruel life she had to live. She deserved so much more than life dealt her, but she made the best out of it and kept going as long as she could.

Glenda will always be known for how kind, giving, and forgiving she always was. She always had a way to make people laugh and smile. She had the biggest HEART. Now she will be with us at all times looking over us. Not a day will go by that she won't be terribly missed so much by us all and many more. Rest Easy Mama, fly high with those beautiful wings I know you were given. We all love you until infinity and beyond, and we will always keep your memory alive for these babies. 💖
