Gladys Jewell Overton Summey

DURHAM Mrs. Gladys Jewell Overton Summey, 86, of Durham, died at the Pittsboro Christian Village on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Mrs. Summey was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Victor Royal Overton and Lula Frances Yates Overton. She attended Northgate Chapel. She is survived by her husband, Raymond A. Summey; brother, “Pete” Overton, Jr.; two sisters, Victorine Thompson, Frances Shaw and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park, officiated by Mr. Scott Pierce.The family will visit on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m., before the service at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable.
