Gattis Wayne Ennis

Gattis “Wayne” Ennis, 69, passed away January 5, 2022 at home.

Mr. Ennis was born on December 31, 1952, to Helen Meirl Ennis and the late Harvey Gattis Ennis in Dunn, NC.  Wayne attended RTP Community. He loved the Lord and freely witnessed to others. Wayne loved cats and taking care of them. He enjoyed working on classic cars, as well as going to Cruise-ins and car shows. As a collector, he collected various different items.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sharon Ennis of the home; step daughter, Elizabeth and her husband James Ross, Jr. of Grayson, GA; sister, Peggy House (Tim) of Timberlake, NC; step grandsons, Grant Cochrane of Charlotte, NC and A. Jackson Cochrane of Virginia Beach, VA; niece, Stephanie Fox ; and nephew, Anthony House (Jamie).

A memorial service will be held at RTP Community Church, 1727 Ed Cook Road in Durham on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 1:00 pm.  Officiating will be Dr. Devon Blanton.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any group of the Humane Society.
