Frank William Irwin, Jr. of Sunrise, Florida, formerly of Wake Forest, NC, beloved husband, father, and son has passed away before his time. Frank passed at the age of 53 on February 24, 2021 peacefully at his home after enjoying a wonderful evening with his wife.
Frank was born July 19, 1967 in Weirton, West Virginia to the late Frank Irwin, Sr and Joan Weaver. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Kathleen (KC) Irwin; his son Garreth (Carlee); mother Joan Weaver; sister Cynthia; a special nephew Shaun; many other nieces and nephews and beloved in-laws and friends.
Frank was preparing for the arrival of his first grandchild, Ronin William Irwin, in March and was excited to be a “Papi”.
Frank graduated from Wheeling Park High School and entered the United States Marine Corps. He was a Veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm and was awarded the Rifle Expert Badge, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Meritorious Mast, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Pistol Sharpshooter Badge, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal during his time of service.
Frank honored the motto of Semper Fi “Always Faithful” in his service to his country, his dedication to his family, friends, and work.
After an honorable discharge from the Marines, Frank enjoyed working and traveling throughout the US as a truck driver for Ryder Logistics.
He will be remembered for his love of “garage life,” playing golf and cornhole, hosting Christmas parties, and spending time at the beach.
Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for visitation as well as the funeral service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
A funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel with military honors. A visitation will be held an hour prior from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Robert Wortham, Pastor.
