Frances Jewel Salmon Berry, born on January 3, 1941, passed away at the age of 82 on April 3, 2023, after a long, difficult battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Walter Salmon and Nancy Cannon; brothers, Donald Salmon, Walter “Buddy” Salmon; and sister, Ramona Pendergraph.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edward “Eddie” Berry; children, Glenn Berry (Debbe), Ginger Berry (Marian), and Jeffrey Berry (Katie); 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Frances was raised in Durham, NC and was one of 9 children. Frances graduated from Northern High School in 1959. Her favorite things were sewing, crafting, camping with her husband and their dogs, and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she spoiled. Those who knew her knew she put God and her family first. She was feisty, opinionated at times, and was loved by everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Lawrence Road Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald Goodwin officiating.
