Floyd “Jack” Rose, Jr., 82 of Mebane, North Carolina passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026. He was born August 25, 1943 to the late Floyd J. Rose, Sr. and Nora Cox Rose.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Rose and Donnie Rose.
Jack proudly served his country in the United States Navy; he was a proud and patriotic American who always displayed the American Flag at his home. After leaving the U.S. Navy, he began a career in Telecommunications with GTE where he worked for over 10 years. He then joined Northern Telecom where he worked as an Engineer until his retirement in 1999.
When Jack retired, knowing he loved being around people and golf he decided to go work at The Crossings Golf Course where he did various jobs for over 15 years where he loved talking to people. He also looked forward to fishing, trips to the beach with Joyce and golf outings with his special friends in The Old Farts Club (OFC).
Mr. Rose was a devout Christian and served the Lord and his community. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Jack served with the NC Baptist Men (Men on Missions), a disaster response team that he was passionate about. It afforded him the opportunity to help people in the worst of times and also to travel the country while doing so.
Jack was a family man always excited to have family and friends come over for a cookouts and spending time together. He was known to go out of his way to help anyone. His friendly demeanor and kind ways could even make a stranger he met only minutes earlier feel as if they had known each other for years.
Mr. Rose will be remembered as a loving husband, father, sibling, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be so deeply missed by the many lives he touched with his kind ways and selflessness.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Rose; sons, Mark Teasley (Sandy) and Greg Teasley (Donna); daughter, Kelly Rhew (Chris); brother, Billy Rose (Lucy); sister, Judy Batchelor (Ricky); grandchildren, Mark Teasley, II (Anna), Melissa Jones (Jason), Caleb Rose (Beka), Chad Teasley (Sydney) and Emma Rhew; great grandchildren, Bailey Jones, Jackson Rose, Sam Rose, Connor Teasley and Dean Teasley and numerous other loving family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 3610 Hillandale Rd., Durham, NC 27705. Rev. Earl Echols will officiate.
The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 11:00 A.M.
