Evelyn graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1955. She retired with more than 42-years of service at Duke University Medical Center as a Medical Records Clerk, where she received numerous attendance and service awards. In her leisure time, you could find Evelyn working outside with her husband, David, in their beautifully landscaped yard and flower garden, or at their family lake house at Kerr Lake. She enjoyed playing Skip-Bo with her family, especially with her twin sister, Merita. She also enjoyed solving jigsaw and word search puzzles and reading her Bible each day.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41-years, David Lloyd Overcash, Sr.; brother, James Alfred Keith; sister, Doris Keith Scoggins, and sister, Merita Keith Shambley.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her son, David Lloyd Overcash, Jr. (Barbara) of Durham; and her daughter, Joanne Overcash Lee (Charles) of Youngsville, along with four grandchildren, Whitney Wilcox (Christopher), Kassi Overcash, Meredith Lee (Allen Lee Dowler, Jr., fiancé), and McKenzie Lee; and 4 great-grandchildren, Aubrie Wilcox, Steven Wilcox, Abbie Wilcox, and Bela Martinez.
