Ethel Dennis

DURHAM- Mrs. Ethel Strange Dennis, 94, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020.

Mrs. Dennis was born on August 9, 1925 to the late Walter and Edith Strange in Cirencester, England. She has lived here for 74 years and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Mebane, NC. Ethel was the president of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Club of Durham and enjoyed sponsoring underprivileged children in foreign countries.

Mrs. Dennis was preceded in death by her husband, Delphus Lee Dennis; brothers, Peter, Dennis, and Buster Strange; sisters, Janet and Marion; and grandchild, Lynn. She is survived by her sons, Cleo Edward Dennis (Deberoh Lucille Dennis), Stephen William Dennis (Debbie Harrell Dennis), and Richard Lee Dennis (Helen McHome Dennis); brother, Roy Strange (Carol) of Scotland; grandchildren, Brian Dennis, Renee Dennis, and Les Hilton; great-grandchildren, Kelly Usher (Chad), Tara Allen, Colby Hawley, and Jordan Fish; and great-great grandson, Grayson Moore.

A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Monday, June 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor Chuck Perkins.
