Jenifer McWherter Farrell was a loving and giving spirit, living to make a difference in people’s lives. Jenifer passed away unexpectedly following a brave battle with chronic illness at the age of 43, on November 13, 2020 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.
Jeni was adopted by Marvin and Joyce McWherter as an infant in Bakersfield, CA. As part of a military family, Jeni travelled the country before settling in Durham NC at age 12, where she made lifelong friends. Jeni was a student at C.E. Jordan High School and attended Durham Technical Community College.
She was a devoted mother, wife, and beloved friend. Her giving heart always put those closest to her first. All through her life, Jeni was a caregiver. She managed her business of 25 years, Triple Diamond Cleaning, taking care of houses, pets, and families but mostly caring for children. As a nanny (for Linthicum and the Mulligan families), Jeni made a real difference in the lives of several children. She then devoted her time to her son, Bradley, who was her greatest joy.
Jeni was an adventurous soul, loving thrill rides, roller coasters, scuba diving, skydiving, and travel. She was an avid lover of sun and water, spending time at the beach, the lake and even the pool. She enjoyed boating and jet skiing and was happiest enjoying time with her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Joyce McWherter. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Vincent Bryan Farrell, her 10 year old son, Bradley Bryan Farrell and her 96 year old grandfather Bob McWherter. She is also survived by her in-laws Bryant and Patricia Farrell, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Thursday, November 19 there will be a Celebration of Life Service at NewHope Church at 7619 Fayetteville Road. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. with the service at 4 p.m. and a reception to follow. Physical distancing, masking and safety standards will be upheld.
In lieu of flowers, an education fund has been set up for her son, Bradley Farrell at Wells Fargo in Woodcroft.
