Elizabeth Smith Wilhelm

Elizabeth Smith Wilhelm, 70, of Timberlake, North Carolina peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in Durham, NC at Hock Family Pavilion.  She was born on March 15, 1954 in Durham, NC to the late Warren and Hazel Smith.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Vaughn Wilhelm and brothers, Billy Smith and Henry Smith.

Mrs. Wilhelm retired from IBM after over 20 years of service. Elizabeth has always been known to have a Green Thumb. Being an avid gardener she was always very proud of her flowers and plants.  While in her garden she enjoyed bird watching and especially the hummingbirds as they visited the feeders she had placed in the yard.  Elizabeth’s love for animals was extended by regularly donating to the ASPCA.

Elizabeth loved her family, especially her granddaughters who in her eyes could do no wrong.  She enjoyed going shopping with them, having ice cream night on the back patio and especially loved spending Christmas with her entire family.

Mrs. Wilhelm will be remembered as a strong-willed, thoughtful and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known her.

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Scottie Lee Smith (Tara); brothers, Herbert Smith (Debbie) and Eddie Smith; granddaughters, Stephanie Ennis and Krystal Ellis (Dakota); great grandson, Corey Ellis and other loving family members and friends.

Services will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Hudson Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation prior at 12:30 p.m.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Tyler Smith and John Ottaway.
