With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Liz Scottie Ware, 74, who passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday July 1, 2025.
She was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched all who knew her. She was born January 10, 1951, in Roxboro, NC to the late Alean Newcomb.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Ware, Sr.; brother, Richard Stanley and sister, Jean Marie Buchanan.
Mrs. Ware retired from Duke working there as a Nurse for over 35 years. She enjoyed fishing and traveling. Her dog Fox was always by her side. Most of all she loved being around her family. She will be dearly missed by everyone blessed to have known her.
Mrs. Ware is survived by her three children, Ronnie Freeman, Jr. and wife Dottie, daughter, Pamela Williamson and husband Lee, and son Paul Ware, Jr.
Grandchildren, Jeremie Freeman, Ed Williamson Jr., Joshua Williamson and wife Tabitha, Cyrus, Dakota, Alyssa, Benjamin, and Bella Ware. Great grandchildren, Ethan, Jayce, and Brianna; sister and brother-in-law Paulette and Buddy Jenkins and other loving family and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Tim Wheeler will officiate the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Freeman, Jeremie Freeman, Josh Williamson, Ed Williamson, Thomas Scoggins, and Brad Glenn.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
Flowers are acceptable.
