Elizabeth Rigsbee Tetterton

DURHAM Elizabeth Rigsbee Tetterton, 93, passed away at the Carriage House in Greensboro on Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Mrs. Tetterton was born in Durham, the daughter of the late Sidney and Eva Rigsbee. She was married to Edward McGarvey Tetterton, who preceded her in death, and lived in Washington, NC, where she worked for Texas Gulf as an administrative assistant. After retiring, she joined the Peace Corp. She was active in the Democratic Party in Washington and in Greensboro.She is survived by four children, Edward McGarvey Tetterton, Jr. of Miami, Fl, William Sidney Tetterton, of Savannah, Ga, Elizabeth Tetterton Joseph, of Greensboro, and Cathy Tetterton Six, of Calabash; 7 grandchildren, and 8 greatchildren.A graveside service will be held at Bethesda Baptist Church cemetery in Durham at 2 pm on Saturday.
