Betty Jo Battersby

DURHAM Mrs. Betty Jo Battersby, 88, of Durham, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
Mrs. Battersby was born in Mingo County, WV, the daughter of the late Charles Bruce Akers and Thelma Elizabeth Ramey. She enjoyed fishing, reading and crocheting. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter David Battersby; son, Wilson “Skip” Joseph Wiseman; daughter, Debbie Waller and two sisters, Peggy Barth and Mathie Goodrich.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Ray and husband, Jerry, Diane Robison and husband, Charles, Cindy Smith, William “Tracy” Battersby and Elwood Bruce Ayres and wife, Linda; three sisters, Anita Duran, Nancy Miller and Bobby Boutwell; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 at Capital Towers 4812 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
