Edna Copeland Lilly

DURHAM- Ms. Edna Copeland Lilly, 94, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019.
Ms. Lilly was born March 5, 1925 to Gordon and Lottie Copeland in Durham, NC. Edna was a nurse at the Veterans Hospital and former member of Bethesda Baptist Church.
Ms. Lilly was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Lottie Copeland; husband, Elzie R. Lilly; son, Phillip Lilly; brother, Buck Copeland; sisters, Margaret Luguire, Elizabeth Lowe, Ruth Brooks, and Wilma Copeland. Edna is survived by her son, Greg Lilly of Cullowhee, NC; brothers, Gerald Copeland of Durham, NC, and Wayne Copeland of Morehead City, NC; sisters, Bernice Griffin of Durham, NC, Eleanor Weatherly of Lexington, NC, Vivian Maynard of South Carolina; granddaughter, Laura Willard; and great-grandchildren, Luke Pendergraph, and Matthew McDaniel.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ronnie Lilly and Joan Luquire for their love and support through caregiving over the years.
A graveside service will be held at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Reverend Robert Weatherly. No visitation will be held.
