Dr. Deborah L. Squire

Dr. Deborah L. Squire, age 70, died unexpectedly at her home in Durham some time mid-April 2023. Debbie received her B.S. from Wheaton College before attending Northwestern Medical School. She completed her residency at Duke University, specializing in pediatrics and sports medicine. Debbie worked at Duke for forty years, teaching at Duke Medical School along with a pediatrics practice and a sports medicine practice at Duke. She was one of the team doctors for Duke women’s basketball and field hockey teams. Her favorite things were her dog and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexander and Isabelle Squire, and brother David Squire. Her surviving siblings are Jonathan Squire, Stephen Squire, Philip Squire, Martha Caligan, Timothy Squire, Rebecca Myers, and Elizabeth Carrera.
