Deborah Hobbs Higgs

Deborah (Debbie) Hobbs Higgs went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 10, 2025. She was the eldest daughter born on July 7, 1953 to the late Susie Ann Carey and Jasper Carl Hobbs.

Debbie spent many years working as a bookkeeper and she loved her dogs, Noah and Jax, but her greatest accomplishment was being “Mom” and “Nana”. Debbie served as a shining example to all she touched. Her capacity for love was greater than many will ever achieve and her family felt this every day. Through her gentle spirit and giving heart, she taught her children Christian values such as unconditional love, generosity, and kindness. Her family adored her and she will be greatly missed.

Debbie is survived by her devoted husband, Marshall; her children Timmy Barnes (Anita), Michael Barnes (Vanessa), Becky Williams (Troy), and Starlena Barnes (Brian); bonus daughters Sandy Karol, Annette Champion (Stephen), and Tammy Rokose (Lee); and her 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters Sherry Edwards, Diane Roghelia (Ronnie), and Jandy Davis in addition to many cherished nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Wednesday October 15, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday October 16, 2025 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Tim Bloomberg will officiate the service.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. 

Pallbearers will be Sam Barnes, Max Barnes, Tony Deleon, Sam Young, RJ Roghelia and Daniel Roghelia.
