Cynthia Matthews Buck

BAHAMA, NC- Cynthia Matthews Buck, 59, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Duke University Hospital.

Mrs. Buck was born September 11, 1960 to Lonnie Matthews and Virginia Sessoms in Durham, NC at Watts Hospital. She loved to cook and be with her family and friends, but most of all with her grandsons. Mrs. Buck will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Buck is preceded in death by sister, Karen Lynn Matthews, and step-father, Charles Sessoms.

Mrs. Buck is survived by her father, Lonnie Matthews (Margaret Ann); mother, Virginia Sessoms; son, Brooks Buck; daughter, Samantha Buck; brother, Lonnie “John” Wayne Matthews, Jr.; step-brothers, Chuck Sessoms (Robbie), and Robert Sessoms (Sandra); step-sister, Tammy Davis; sister, Kathy Marcinowski; grandchildren, Austin Buck and Jacob Fox.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m.  on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Hudson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverend Hugh O’Shields.

Hudson Funeral Home will be observing social distancing for the memorial service, and asks everyone in attendance to wear a mask when entering the building.
