Corrine Dickerson Norden

Sep 7, 1934 — Sep 13, 2026

Durham

Corrine Norden, 92, of Durham, passed away on September 13, 2026. Corrine was born on September 7, 1934, to the late Goodrich and Florence Dickerson.

In addition to her parents, Corrine is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William “Bill” Norden; her brother, McArther “Mac” Dickerson; and her sisters, Sadie Baker and Joanne O’Neal.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracey Scaggs; grandchildren Jennifer Taylor (Erick), Jamie Scaggs, Julie Barringer (Cory), and Joshua Scaggs (Victoria); and great-grandchildren Anthony, Savannah, Justin, Autumn, and Ivy.

Corrine was a devoted Christian whose faith was at the heart of her life. She was a longtime member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Henderson, North Carolina. Her faith was more than something she practiced—it was a part of who she was and a source of love and guidance for those around her.

Corrine was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins, the Carolina Hurricanes, and Duke University basketball and football. She also loved NASCAR, including watching her favorite driver, Tony Stewart, on the track.

But more than anything, her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life and held a special place in her heart. She treasured the conversations, the celebrations, and the simple everyday moments spent with her family.

Corrine will be remembered for her strong faith, her devotion to her family, her love of sports, and the joy she found in the people she loved most. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and loved ones, and the generations who carry her love forward.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Youth of Tomorrow, founded by Joe Gibbs, in honor of Corrine. Contributions may be sent in her memory to support the organization’s work with young people and families.
