Clyde Jackson Williams, 100, of Durham, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Duke University Hospital. He was born September 4, 1924, in Durham, NC to the late Carl Crosby and Lizzie Johnson Williams.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Jean Williams; two sisters, Thelma Garrett, and Anna Louise Wyatt.
Mr. Williams was a lifelong resident of Durham. He proudly served 4 years in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Clyde was an outdoorsman, and he enjoyed hunting, lake fishing and trapping. In his spare time, he also liked working and making hunting knives. Clyde also enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially the Charlotte Hornets and Durham Bulls.
Clyde is survived by his son Thomas Williams and wife Glenda of Raleigh, NC, two grandchildren, Travis Williams, Gina Hensley and husband Preston, six great grandchildren, Scarlett, Hugo, Archer, Mavie, Calvin, and Gwen Hensley.
A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Hudson Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703. Pastor Tommy Hart will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery in Pittsboro, N.C. at 4 p.m.
