EMMONSDURHAM Pastor Clarence Wayne Emmons, 65, of 2925 Tom Clark Road and formerly of Roxboro, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, February 03, 2012.He was a native of Durham, the son of the late Charles B. Emmons and Pansy Watson Emmons. After retiring he became a minister and was a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He was a member of the Caretakers Trio that went monthly to JFK Towers to have a service with the residents. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Emmons; one son, James W. Emmons and wife, Nina of Durham; one daughter, Shelly Leatham and husband, Mike of Roxboro; two grandchildren, Bryant Emmons and wife, Crystal and Ally Leatham; two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Hailey Emmons; brother, Garry Emmons and wife, Marsha of Hillsborough; half-brother, Steve Emmons of Ohio and half-sister, Susan Brewer of Florida.Memorial services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Eddie Dollar. The family will receive friends on Sunday immediately following the service at the church.
