Charlie Hockaday

Mr. Charlie Hockaday, 98, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, at Hock Family Pavilion.

Charlie was born September 25, 1925, in Four Oaks, NC to the late Joseph Carson Hockaday and Mary Etta Creech Hockaday. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Vera Christine Chisenhall Hockaday, and daughter, Judy Gail Hockaday.

Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a carpenter and a self-builder by trade. Charlie will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Hockaday is survived by his daughter, Erma Jean Hockaday Fields and her husband, Dennis Albert Fields, and grandson, Dennis Michael Fields.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
