Carol "Ann" Merritt

Carol “Ann” Merritt, 80, died peacefully on June 27, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 13, 1943 in Stem, NC to the late Shirley and Mary Williams. When she was a child she moved to Durham, NC where she lived the rest of her life. In 1960, she married Ray Merritt, and they had two children. Ann worked at CCB/SunTrust in the IT department for 43 years before retiring.

Ann, above all was devoted to her family. She loved her family selflessly. Ann’s favorite pastime was to spend time with her family. She provided unconditional love and a home for everyone!! Ann will truly be missed by everyone who knew her.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband Ray Merritt of 46 years and her sister Shelia Tilley.

Ann is survived by her two children Doug Merritt (Karen) of Wake Forest, and Tammie Keith (Eddie) of Creedmoor, NC; brothers Bernice (Pat), Ronnie (Debra), Donnie (Debbie); sisters Bonnie Teasley (Bubby), Tennie Walker (Charles).

Grandma Ann was blessed to have four grand children; Ashley Roberts (Chris), Amy Hurley (Tony), Korey Merritt (Ashley), Keelan Merritt and six great-grandsons: Kamden, Ty, Jameson, Brooks, Miles, and Rowan.

Our hope is that Ann got as much joy from us as we have had from her. She was one of a kind, and loved beyond measure.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Hudson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens with Pastor Corey Foster officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Williams, Ronnie Williams Jr., Barry Williams, Cole Teasley, Kendall Teasley, and Grant Fox.

Flowers are acceptable.
