Bobby W. Goss, 90, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. He was born in Durham, NC on June 5, 1935 to the late Henry and Clara Goss.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Barbara Goss and his 9 siblings.
Mr. Goss worked for many years as a T.V. Repairman for Montgomery & Aldridge. He then went on to work for Northern Telecom for over 15 years, then decided to end his career with IBM where he retired after over 10 years of service. During that time, he proudly served his country in the Army National Guard until he retired after 20 years of service.
Bobby stayed active, he enjoyed doing yardwork, woodwork and helping people in the neighborhood. He was a member of the Gorman Ruritan Club where he always looked forward to preparing food for their events.
For many years he was on the board for the Oak Grove Athletic Association. Bobby enjoyed going with Barbara to Sunset Beach where he would sit with her enjoying the sun and peace.
Mr. Goss was a wonderful, loving and great husband, fantastic father, and the best “Pa”. He will be deeply missed by everyone blessed to have known him.
Mr. Goss is survived by his daughters, Faye Goss Riggs and Lynn Goss Sigmon (Johnny); son, Scott Goss (Holly); grandchildren, Michael Riggs (Kim), Nick Riggs (Jodi), Michael Goss, Tanner Goss (Kimberly), Shelly Fletcher (Page) and Johnny Sigmon, Jr.; great grandchildren, Morgan, Brooke, and Rafe Sigmon, Tori Riggs, Jordyn Allen (Dylan), Landon Fletcher, Bailey Brennan (Jamie) and Dylan Walker (Ashley); great great grandchildren, Beckett Brennan and Oaklynn Walker and numerous other loving family members and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Michael Riggs, Nick Riggs, Michael Goss and Tanner Goss.
Friends and family are invited to visit with the family after the service at the home of Mr. Goss.
