Billy Malcom Cooley

DURHAM- Billy Malcom Cooley, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 18, 2021.

Billy was born June 13, 1942, to the late Harvey and Norma (Glenn) Cooley in Durham, NC. Mr. Cooley was an active member of Sorrells Grove Baptist Church, where he faithfully taught Sunday school. Billy and Linda were also a part of a prison ministry for 21 years. He loved God and always talked about his faith. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and being outdoors. For 55 years, Billy was on the Board of Directors for the Durham County Farm Bureau. He was very patriotic and loved his country, which he enjoyed traveling all over to see new places. Billy loved his family and will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooley is preceded in death by his brothers, Linwood Cooley and Gerald Cooley, and grandson, Kyle Lee Cooley.

Mr. Cooley is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda Taylor Cooley; son, Billy Malcom Cooley, Jr. (Milly), daughters, Teresa Dianne Cooley Lucas (Buddy), Tammy Cooley, Bonnie Cooley Page (Danny), and Susan Cooley Kinzer, sister, Sandra Nackab; as well as his eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Hudson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
