Billie Gray Latta

Billie Marie Gray Latta, 96, of Durham, NC passed away on July 3rd, 2024. Billie was born December 15, 1927, to Sarah Oakley Gray and Frank L. Gray. In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Latta; her daughter, Janet L. Pate, and her granddaughter, Katelyn N. Latta.

Billie will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. 

Billie is survived by her son, David E. Latta and wife Jane; daughter, Carolyn L. Whitley and friend, Wade Rigsbee; daughter Ruth L. Collins and husband, David; adopted daughter, Carol P. Sandy and husband, Clyde; grandchildren, Ron Whitley, Wes Latta, Greg Latta and wife Karen; great grandchildren, Wesley Whitley and wife, Kimberly, Evie and Charles Latta; great great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alexander, Roman Dean, and Kathrine Whitley.

She is also survived by a dear and special friend, James H. Wheeler.

A funeral service will be held at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The family receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. 

Officiating will be Reverend Bob Kerr. 

Interment will be at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Durham, NC. Immediately following the service. 

Pallbearers will be George Woods, Mark Lalumiere, Edward Wheeler, David M. Latta, Blane Latta, and Ricky Oakley.
