Betty Powell

DURHAM- Mrs. Betty Jean Powell, 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.

Mrs. Powell was born on April 1, 1940 to Lemule and Clara Millard in Mt. Olive, NC. Betty enjoyed working at Added Dimensions for 9 years until she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She loved going out to eat and doing puzzles, Betty was a proud breast cancer survivor. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her parents, Lemule and Clara Millard; her husband of 30 years, John Powell, Jr.; and her daughter, Karen Sue Parrish. She is survived by her son, John William Powell; daughter, Gloria Powell Hay (Tony); sister, Wilma Odom (Laskey); and grandchildren, Charles Hay, Jr., John Hay, Crystal Powell, Skyler Powell, and Betty Jean Copley.
