Betty Jo Mitchell Royster

DURHAM Mrs. Betty Jo Mitchell Royster, 76 of 4 Wembley Court, died on Friday, March 23, 2012, after an extended illness.Mrs. Royster was a native of Lakeland, Florida.She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Mitchell. She moved to Durham to go to X-Ray School at Duke, where she met her husband of 54 years. She was a collector of all things.She is survived by her husband, Edward Osborne Royster; one daughter, Debra Sanders of Apex; one sister, Carolyn Mullis and husband, Larry of Dublin, Ga; grandson, James “Jess” Edward Sanders; niece, Becky Lively and nephews, Burt Mullis and John Mullis.A graveside service will be held on Monday at 1 pm. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Kenneth Forehand. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 to 1 p.m., before the service at Hudson Funeral Home.
