Betty Grady Sherron

August 14, 1942 — July 11, 2021

RALEIGH- Betty Grady Sherron, 78, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021.

Betty was born on August 14, 1942 to the late Juddy and Lena (Ray) Grady. Mrs. Sherron was born and raised in a Christian home. She was a faithful, active member of Leesville Road Baptist Church. She never met a stranger and always shared the word of God with others. Betty loved her family dearly and never missed the chance to show her love.

Mrs. Sherron was a very hard worker and worked several jobs to provide for her family. She retired from Jeffreys Grove Elementary School as a teacher assistant, where she worked 30+ years. During her retirement, Betty worked at Bojangles to get out the house and socialize. It was no surprise that during her time there she received employee of the month. Betty loved to cut grass, but unlike her husband Roy, she tried to mow everything in sight, including grass with rocks in it! Betty enjoyed her time reclined back, watching TV or being with her grandson, Anderson Sherron. When Anderson was younger, Betty and Roy would carry him with them to Bojangles where they had breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Betty also took Roy and Anderson to Cook Out at 2 a.m. for a strawberry milkshake. Roy knew if Anderson asked, Betty would take them! She loved her family so much words cannot describe. Betty will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sherron is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy Sherron; son, Dwight Shelton Sherron; daughter, Wendy Hacini, and sister Carolyn Yavon Grady.

Mrs. Sherron is survived by her grandchildren, Anderson Sherron, Tabitha Sansom, Riley Walker and Reagan Walker; great-grandchildren, Yassine Allam, Tyreese Sansom, Savant Sansom, Aryeh Sansom, Condelario Sansom, Ameera Sansom and Shadae Sansom; daughter-in-law, Jamey Downes Sherron; and sister, Snodean G. Paschall.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Pastor Damon Williamson.
