Betty Bowles Johnson

DURHAM Mrs. Betty Ann Bowles Johnson, 66, of Durham, died on Saturday, July 30, 2016.
Mrs. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Lewis Bowles, Sr. and Mildred Sears Yates Bowles. She was the co-owner of Greenfields Restaurant until retiring. She was involved with the Jaycees and Chamber of Commerce in Durham. She loved fishing, gardening and watching golf; loved all college and professional sports and was an avid true blue Carolina fan.
She is survived by her husband, James Alan Johnson; stepson, David Brooks Johnson (Andre’) from Summerville, S.C.; three brothers, Michael Yates (Lee) of Georgia, Lewis Bowles Jr. (Judy) of Durham and Charles Bowles (Donna) of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Hannah Johnson and Maverick Johnson; niece, Kristy Yates Taylor and four nephews, Michael Bowles, Christopher Bowles, Lewis Bowles and Michael Yates.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Johnny Hewett will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
