Betsy Greene Wills

Betsy Dawn Greene Wills of Mount Airy, North Carolina, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on February 13, 2026. Betsy was born on August 14, 1953, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to John Marshall “Jack” Greene and Ramie Lorraine Greene.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Greene and Ramie Greene Athas; and stepfather, Homer Athas.

Betsy is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Dwight Wills; her loving daughter, Amy Williams; her cherished grandson, Christopher Aaron Lewis; her beloved granddaughter, Allison Grace Lewis; her sisters, Robin Greene Blackwell and Jackie Greene Davis; as well as many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family whom she loved dearly.

Betsy was a devoted Christian, a beautiful example of love, strength, and grace, and a guiding light in the lives of those who knew her. Her deep faith, kindness, and unconditional love touched everyone who had the blessing of knowing her.

Betsy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. While hearts are broken and she will be missed more than words can express, her family finds comfort in the knowledge that she is now at peace in the arms of the Lord, with the certainty of being reunited again.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday February 22, 2026, at Hudson Funeral Home Chapel.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Liberty Hospice and Mount Airy Fire and Rescue for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, Betsy requested that donations in her memory be made to the Mount Airy Fire and Rescue.
