STEM- Mrs. Betty Lou Carpenter, 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

Mrs. Carpenter was born on September 24, 1938 to John and Ethel Cash in Durham, NC. She was a member of Roberson Grove Church, retired from Weck and worked for Burlington Industry for many years. Betty was a good Christian woman, who took care of everyone around her and enjoyed cooking for others. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Cash; husband, Marvin Carpenter; and son, Craig Carpenter. She is survived by her son, John “Mark” Carpenter (Karen); brother, Reverend Donnie Cash; sisters, Rose Marie Perry, Carolyn Ray, and Jean Carter; grandchildren, Crystal Nicole Carpenter (Berry), and Grayson Craig Carpenter; and two great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Tracy and the Liberty Hospice staff for their care.

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Reverend Jack O’Neal.
