Annie Gooch Seeley

DURHAM- Mrs. Annie Gooch Seeley, 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

Mrs. Seeley was born on August 3, 1932 to Onie and Annie Gooch in Durham, NC. She was a long-time attendee of Grove Park Chapel and worked at Duke Hospital for over 50 years, retiring as manager in the x-ray department. She was a hard-working woman and was very independent. Annie enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and mowing the grass. She fiercely loved her family and will be deeply missed by them.

Mrs. Seeley was preceded in death by her parents, Onie and Annie Gooch; first husband, William Mixon; second husband, Jack Seeley; and brother, Onie “Buck” Gooch. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Izzell (James) of Garner, NC, and Angela Carol Strayhorn (Tim) of Hillsborough; brother, Tommy Gooch (Donna) of Durham, NC; sisters, Edna Parrish and Dovie Gaddy, both of Durham, NC;  grandchildren, Dorothy Karl (Jeremy), Jennifer Eudy (Bruce), Sarah Cutler (Brad), Hannah Izzell, Lydia Izzell, Christina Bailey, and Nathan Strayhorn; and great-grandchildren, little Bruce Eudy, David Bailey, Jacob Bailey, and Eli Bailey.

The public is welcome to come by and view and sign the register book during normal business hours, Monday, May 25, 2020. The public is also welcome to come by and view and sign the register book, Tuesday, May 26, 2020 until 12:00 noon.

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Flowers are acceptable.
