Aleene George Mashburn

DURHAM Mrs. Aleene George Mashburn, 83, of Durham, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.Mrs. Mashburn was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Purvis George and Bernice Lockamy George. She was a homemaker.She is survived by her husband, John L. Mashburn; two sons, Keith Mashburn (Natalie) and J. B. Mashburn (Donna); two daughters, Wanda Summey (Spencer) and Yvonne Scarlett (Ron) and four grandchildren, Amanda Scarlett, Adam Scarlett, Andrew Scarlett and Nikki Mashburn.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Betty Bunn will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m., before the service at the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable.
