Wade Clifford Andrews

DURHAM Mr. Wade Clifford Andrews, 90, of Durham, died at the VA Medical Center on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Mr. Andrews was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the son of the late Ralph Andrews and Emma Grady Andrews. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII.  After working for the Durham Fire Department he was employed with Pilot Freight Carriers until he retired after 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Andrews and was the youngest of 9 siblings. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a past Shriner.

He is survived by his two sons, Richard Andrews and wife Barbara of Raleigh and Rodney Andrews and wife Vicki of Durham; seven grandchildren, Michelle Rigsbee (David), Brent Andrews, Adrienne Morgan (John), Emily Leeds (John), Erin Andrews, Bennett Andrews and Blaine Andrews; seven great-grandchildren, Lindsay Rigsbee, Chelsea Rigsbee, Logan Morgan, Riley Morgan, Miles Leeds, Mack Leeds and Lilly Leeds.

Graveside services with military rites will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery. Rev. Wes McMurray will officiate. Pallbearers will be Rodney Garrett, Wade Garrett, Dicky Lyon, Roger Garrett, Barry Norton and Brent Norton.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences may be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
