Tyree Johnson

Durham Mr. Tyree Johnson, 99, of 1742 Stage Road, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Hock Family Pavilion.
Mr. Johnson was born in Wake County, son of the late Ed Johnson and Carrie Page Johnson. He was a retired farmer and a member of Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Lewey Johnson, and two sisters, Thelma Smith and Mae Lee Marsh.
Surviving are one daughter, Kay Sloan (Bobby); two sons, Larry Johnson (Barbara), Tommy Johnson (Sue) all of Durham; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and nephew, Earl Smith of Maryland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Morris Westbrook and Rev. Glenn Davis will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sorrell’s Grove Baptist Church, 210 Sorrell’s Grove Church Road, Morrisville, NC 27560. Online condolences may be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
