Norman Lee Taylor

DURHAM- Norman L. Taylor, 80, of  Durham passed away on Monday, November 30, 2015. He was a native and lifelong resident of  Durham, the son of the late Thaddeus Taylor and Pluma Taylor.  Mr. Taylor proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of Gorman Ruritan Club. Mr. Taylor retired from Owens-Illinois Co. He loved to play the guitar and bass and once played in a country band with his brother. Mr. Taylor loved his visits with Pastor Hedges from Harvest Glen Baptist Church where his wife Doris is a member. He will be deeply missed by his family and everyone blessed to have known him. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his step-son, Ronnie D. Haswell, brothers, Kenneth Taylor and Allen Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Doris Taylor; son, Pete Taylor; niece, Evelyn Taylor and other loving family members.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Richard Hedges of Harvest Glen Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. one hour prior to the service. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Harvest Glen Baptist Church, 1815 Glenn School Rd., Durham, NC 27704. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com.
