Nancy Lee Thompson-Couch

DURHAM Mrs. Nancy Lee Thompson-Couch, 82 of Durham, passed away at Duke Hospital on Monday, April 23, 2018. The daughter of Garland Henry Thompson and Martha Francis Blue Thompson. Mrs. Thompson-Couch was born December 30, 1935 in Lakeview, North Carolina and raised in Durham County; later residing in Montclair California for over 35 years before returning home to Durham. She owned her own business NTC PRO, specializing as an accountant, tax consultant, hypnotherapist. Psychologist, and was also a published writer. She attended Glenn Grammar School, Bragtown High School, Watts Hospital School of Nursing, Alamance Tech Institute, Pensacola Jr. College, Mt. Sac Jr. College, Chaffey Jr. College, La Vern University where she received her BA and MBA, Hypnotherapy Institute of Irvine where she received her Doctorate of Hypnotherapy, Pacific University of Hawaii where she achieved her PhD in Psychology and University One of San Francisco where she received her Masters in Neuro Linguistic Programming. She enjoyed the finer things in life, loved art of every kind, writing, reading and traveling to new places. She loved crossword puzzles and any activity that challenged her thinking and mind. She also enjoyed history, philosophy and politics.

Mrs. Thompson-Couch was preceded in death by her sons, Vance Edward Couch and John Thompson Couch, and daughters, Jeanne Lynn Couch and Susan Francis Couch; brothers, Tommy, John and Danny Thompson and sister, Sarah Poole.

She will be sadly missed by grandchildren, Kenneth Bartholomew, Jeffrey Couch, Crystal Couch and Jamie Couch, Jessica Foster and Jackson Foster; great-grandchildren, Aleena Christine Ault, Alyssa Bartholomew, Heaven Bartholomew, Sunshine Bartholomew, Johnny Bartholomew, Andrew Bartholomew and Kenneth Bartholomew Jr.; sisters, Molly Bateman Pruitt and Carolyn Francis; along with a large extended family.
