Laura Tilley Lassiter

DURHAM Mrs. Laura Tilley Lassiter, 78, of Durham, died on Thursday, August 21, 2014.
Mrs. Lassiter was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late John H. Tilley and Bessie Davis Tilley. She retired after 22 years from the Durham Public Schools. She was of the Baptist faith and loved to sing, take food and visit shut-ins.
She is survived by her two sons, Rev. Jack Lassiter and wife, Alane of Greenville and Tim J. Lassiter of Greenville; several nieces and nephews and her grand-puppy, Princess.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Living Waters Church, officiated by Rev. Ron Watts and Rev. Joshua Mickle. Pallbearers will be Joel Mickle, Jerry Smith, Victor Snipes, Rob Winders, Joel Winders and Michael Winders.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m., before the service at Living Waters Church and other times at the home of Martha and Jim Winders, 3905 Cash Road.
