DURHAM-Jasper Ray Combs, 78, of 3908 Holder Rd. died on Sunday, July 1, 2012. He was the son of the late Ord Combs and Lannie Mae Upchurch Combs. He served in the U.S. Army. He was the Service Manager for Triangle Ford before retiring from the Postal Service as a contract truck driver. He attended Faith Worship Center. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grace Herndon Combs, three sons, Warren Ray Combs, Wayne Alan Combs (Angela), and Randall Scott Combs (Tracy) all of Durham; one daughter, Cheryl Combs Brewer (Terry) of Durham; one sister Ruby Mae Trammell of Hillsborough; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jay Pegram will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Zack Combs, Brad Brewer, Mark Mabry, Donald McCorkle, Dan Roberts, Josh Combs.The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son, Wayne Combs, 3908 Bristlewood Dr, Durham.
