Doris K. Scoggins

DURHAM Mrs. Doris Keith Scoggins, 82, of 906 Arvin Road, died on Monday, September 8, 2014.
Mrs. Scoggins was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, the daughter of the late Nulushious Keith and Mary Jane Woods Keith. She retired from Big Star Grocery. She was a member of Gorman Baptist Church, charter member of Faith Baptist Church and attended the Primetimers at Bethesda Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Monroe Wade Scoggins; two sons, Carl Douglas Scoggins and James “Russell” Scoggins both of Durham; two sisters, Merita Shambley and Evelyn Overcash both of Durham; four grandchildren, Julie Scoggins McFalls, Nikki Scoggins Full, Ashley Scoggins Oswald and Kelli Scoggins; 6 great-grandchildren, Jansen McFalls, Jordan McFalls, Kayla Morrison, Levi Full, Nadia Oswald and Miah Oswald.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Hugh O’Shields and Dr. C. J. Bordeaux. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home, 906 Arvin Road. Flowers are acceptable.
