DURHAM Mr. Burton Marye Spicer, Jr., 81, of Durham, died on Sunday, February 7, 2016.
Mr. Spicer was born in Richmond, Virginia to the late Burton Marye Spicer and Elsie Pearl Ewing Spicer. He was a graduate of Durham High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force. He owned and operated Syspak Inc., until retiring and was a former employee of Wright Machinery. He loved to follow his granddaughter’s golf careers. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cecelia Spicer and a sister, Barbara Silas.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Barbee Spicer; his son, Michael Louis Spicer and wife, Maria of Bahama; two sisters, Dorothy Harward of Durham and Betsy Falk of White Mills, Pa.; two grandchildren, Sarah and Jessica Spicer; several nieces and nephews.
