Billy Sherwood Norton, Sr.

DURHAM Mr. Billy Sherwood Norton, Sr. 77, of Durham, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014.
Mr. Norton was born in Johnston County to the late Aaron and Mabel Strickland Norton. He attended Faith Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Winnie Norton; three sons, Billy S. Norton, Jr. and wife, Rhonda of Oxford, Barry W. Norton and wife, Kim and Brent L. Norton and wife, Mitsi all of Durham; one sister, Shirley Ferrell of Durham; six grandchildren, Valerie Norton, Chloe Norton, Winston Norton, Brice Norton, Nick Norton and Austin Norton.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Shane Smith and Rev. Roger Wall will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dickey Lyons, Rodney Andrews, Jeff Murray, Skip Green, Randy Green and Dennis Medlin.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Faith Baptist Church, 3321 Cheek Road, Durham, NC 27704.
