Arretta Hazel Hockaday Glenn

DURHAM Arretta Hazel Hockaday Glenn passed away at Hock Family Pavilion on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 due to declining health. She was born in Four Oaks on June 9, 1921 and was a resident of Durham for most of her life. Mrs. Glenn was the daughter of the late Joseph Carson Hockaday and Mary Etta Creech Hockaday and was married to Willis Dawson Glenn who passed away in 1970. Mrs. Glenn retired from McPherson Hospital as a career nurse and was of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by three sons and their wives: David Glenn and Emily Wexler of Durham; Larry and Linda Glenn of Bunn, North Carolina; and Jimmy and Mildred Glenn of Person County. She also leaves a brother, Charlie Hockaday of Durham; a sister, Lucille Glenn, also of Durham; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park on Thursday at 2 pm with Dr. Marc Tilley officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 at Hudson Funeral Home. The family has requested that donations be sent to Hock Family Pavilion, 4023 N.
