George Harrison Williams, Jr.

DURHAM George Harrison Williams, Jr., age 47, passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Hock Family Pavilion. He was a native of Durham and the son of Vivian Parham Williams and the late George Harrison Williams, Sr. Mr. Williams owned his own landscaping business and loved Nascar and traveling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Meredith Lorren Williams, sons Logan and Landen Williams; stepson, Tyler Tankard; stepdaughter, Briley Tankard; brother, Ben Williams (Carisa) from Creedmoor; and sister, Alicia Williams of Durham. Mr. Williams also leaves 4 nephews: Cody, Evan, Anderson, and Peyton; and 3 nieces: Kellie, Madison, and Cameron.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11 am at Durham Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Denton and Rev. Ken Tilley officiating. Pallbearers will be Ben Lovell, Rodney Wood, Chuck Moore, David O’Dell, Matt Watkins, and Jimmy Meeks.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 10-11 am and other times at his home, 4528 Murphy School Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, and NC 27710.
