Thomas Hudson, Jr.
President/Owner
Tom is a 3rd generation funeral director and embalmer with over 30 years experience in funeral service. He is a graduate of Indiana College of Mortuary Science. Tom is a graduate of the National Foundation of Funeral Service and active in civic organizations such as the Triangle Shrine Club and Oak Grove Masonic Lodge. He is a former member of the Durham City Council.
Mary Carter Hudson
Owner/Secretary/Treasurer
Mary has over 25 years experience in funeral service. She is a graduate of East Carolina University and maintains her license as a funeral director in the state of North Carolina. Mary also maintains an insurance license for preneed. She is a graduate of the National Foundation of Funeral Service.
Mark Barnes
Funeral Director/Embalmer
Mark has over 10 years of service with Hudson Funeral Home. He is a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science and a Member of PI Sigma Eta National Mortuary Fraternity. Mark is a member of South Granville Civitan Club of North Carolina, East District.
Elbert House
Funeral Director
A native of Raleigh, Elbert has over 10 years of service with Hudson funeral home. He is a graduate of Fayetteville Community College and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Elbert is a member of the American Legion.
Brian Tew
Funeral Director/ Embalmer
Brian is a 3rd generation licensed funeral director and embalmer. He is a graduate of Riverside High School and earned his Bachelors degree in Business Management from UNC Pembroke. Brian earned his Funeral Service Degree from Fayetteville Technical College. He is a member of the Durham Exchange Club and is also a member of Dayspring Fellowship Church.
Karen Watson
Office Manager
Karen is a Durham native and graduated from Durham High School. She is a member of the Bethesda Ruritan Club.
Curtis Woodlief
Funeral Director/Embalmer
Curtis is a licensed funeral director and embalmer and is semi-retired after 46 years in funeral service. He graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1958. He is a lifetime member of Sertoma International, past president of the Durham Sertoma Club and a member of Lynn's Crossroads Ruritan Club. He is a member of Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church.
Nick Bryant
Staff Associate
Nick is a Durham native and has been married for over 40 years to Penny Gresham Bryant and they have two children and two grandchildren. He retired in 2003 from IBM and is a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He is a charter member of the Redwood Volunteer Fire Department and has served as chief for over 25 years and treasurer on the Board of Director for over 30 years. He is a member of the NC State Fireman's Association and the Durham County Fire Chief's Association.
Ray Watson
Staff Associate
Ray is a Durham native and is married to Karen and they have one daughter. He has been employed with IBM for over 30 years. He is a member of the Bethesda Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors. He is a member and treasurer of the Bethesda Ruritan Club.
Steve Christian
Staff Associate
Steve was born and raised in Durham. He attended Campbell College and UNC, Chapel Hill. He and his wife, Deb have been married 39 years and have two children. Anna, and John. Steve is semi retired having been a Petroleum Marketer for over 30 years. He is Master of the Oak Grove Masonic Lodge, Vice-President of the Triangle Shrine Club, and a member of Amran Shrine Temple. Steve has been with Hudson Funeral Home for five years.
Dennis Evans
Staff Associate
Dennis was born in Wake Forest, NC. He is a graduate of Southern High School. Dennis is married and has two sons. He is a member and Deacon of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Hillsborough, NC.
